hello,
i have a 2001 yami hpdi 200 with a problem i can not find. the motor will run great in the bay (@ no wake) and 5-10 minutes into the ocean it will bog down but not completly stall out @ all RPM's. i have taken it to my local dealer and he put it on the dyno and everything came back A-OK. if i squeaze the bulb the motor will run fine. the motor has about 40 hours on it and has been well taken care of. please help.

Re: yamaha hpdi 200 problems

it isnt something silly like a blocked breather on the tank is it causing a vacume in the tank then not allowing the fuel to get to the engine ?? slacken fuel cap and try again

One run a remote tank to identify if its the engine or boat. Next hook up a vacuum gauge in the fuel line to see vacuum pull on fuel system. Sound like a restriction in the fuel system. Pickup or check valve.

hello
do a fuel system vacum test and if the low pressure mechanical pumps have white plastic diaphrams replace them. there were some problems with those pumps.
sounds like the vapor seperator is running out of gas. good luck and keep posting
