I have a 1992 Yamaha 130hp TXRQ engine,
a 62 gallon Rayco Manufacturing gas tank, and a LCD Marine meter.

I cannot figure how to hook back up the gas guage after I had to take the console off and take the wiring apart.

I have a pink wire with a male bullet connector, and a black wire with a female bullet connector coming off of the gas tank.

Here's what I have left as far as wiring to hook into to on the LCD marine meter:

1-black wire with female bullet connector,
1-blue wire with female bullet connector
These are bundled together by themselves.

I also have:
1-white wire with female bullet connector,
1-white wire with a blue stripe with a female bullet connector.
These are what are left from the other bundle of wires.

I am totally confused! Can anybody help?
Thanks,
Mike

Re: Yamaha gas guage problem

Ahoy, Mike.

I jumped to my bookcase to check the yammymanual, then realized I gave it to you with the boat/engine. That is the only place I would think to look.

Good luck. :)

Re: Yamaha gas guage problem

Hi JB,
I've scoured the book.
The wiring schematics page is so small that I had to make a copy of it and enlarge it by two hundred percent and even still it's hard to read with out a magnifying glass or a loop.
It shows how to wire everything except the Marine meter. It only shows the tach.
I already have that working.

I think I have some wires that I already hooked up that are wrong, so I'm probably not only dealing with the wires I have left but probably some others also.
I just this weekend figured out how to hook back up the volt meter and hour timer.

One of these days I'll send you some photos of the restoration.
Mike
