This is the white color model from about 1988-89. I got it, cleaned it up and it is in good shape. It started and ran really nice. I then pushed in the kill button to stop it and it will not start now. Cleaned plugs and wires and the green light flashed once in a while, but now no green light and no go either?

The kill switch is bad, test kill switch before you throw $ at a new kill switch.
It's a wild guess, get back to the forum if this doesn't work. And we will try again.

Could you tell me how to test the kill switch? I was thinking of cutting open the orange plastic. A test probe light on the fuse?

I don't know how to test a kill switch,i think you can do it with a multi meter. Can you take it to an autoparts store those guys are very good , Do you know anybody like a mechanic or service person, U-tube may help, a google search.
It's best to just test it, because if the new kill switch doesn't fix it it's a big bummer.

I found out what it was after a lot of time spend on the electrics, it turned out to be a dirty carb. It started out of the blue after wearing out my arm for 2 days. It ran real slow and would not accelerate. I found some brown goo in the float bowl. I cleaned it good. It now purrs like the proverbial kitten. Thanks for the help though, much appreciated. This one had me stumped!
