Looking to do the timing belt on the FT60BET that we have here. Don't know the service history but it's been in use with us for 5 or so years at least now so likely due on age at least.

I've read through the relevant section of the F50F FT50G F60G FT60D Service Manual that I have here (I haven't been able to find a FT60BET manual - this seems to be the closest). Under Power unit / Power unit / Removing the timing belt and sprockets and have a few questions for anyone that has DIY this before:

It looks like a few specialist Yamaha tools are required for the job:
Flywheel puller: 90890-06521
Crankshaft holder 18: 90890-06562
Any tips or suggestions for alternative tools to use?
Are the third party flywheel remover kits in 1/2"-16 suitable?

Or could a generic automotive types of pulley pullers work fo the flywheel?

Alternative way of holding the crankshaft when loosing/tightening the nut? Could a rattle gun be used while the driven pulley (the other side one) is secured in place using a breaker bar through it?

Is there any reason to remove either of the sprockets once the belt is removed (if not then
Flywheel holder: 90890-06522 special tool won't be required)? i.e. is there an oil seal under these that should be replaced when doing this or anything else of the like?

It looks like (from the Service Manual) there is no tensioner in the system, is that correct? I don't have access to the engine for another fortnight or so.

Any other tips or considerations to share?

No one has done their own timing belt on one or these or similar motors then? My main concern at the moment is holding the crankshaft when undoing.
