Yamaha F25mshb Trouble Starting

I recently bought a 2003 Yamaha F25MSHB a month ago and have enjoyed it for 6 whole hours before running into problems. 2 weeks ago I was running the engine, according to break in procedures, and after an hour of finding baitfish, i turned it off. I had trouble restarting the boat, but 15 mins later it started and i attributed that to a flooded engine. The engine ran fine for the next 30-40 starts, turned over on the first pull. 5 days ago, after installing a DOEL FIN, i noticed the outboard was getting more wet than usual. 2 days ago, i could not get the engine to start at all. I left it down overnight and went there 12 hours later, still nothing. i noticed some condensation under the cowl,in the area where the fuel hoses attach. of the 6,000 times i pulled the cord twice it seemed like it was going to turn over, then konked out. <br /><br />my question is: is there any checks a newbie like me can do before hauling out this monstrosity of a "portable" engine back to the dealer? what could be causing these problems? thank you in advance.

hi there.. try to take the cover off and let the motor dry out proprly and use some wd-40 or similar stuff on the plugs/wires. the fin may have bine spraying your motor causing the water/condens and its probably shortciruited in the ignition...sooo dry it out proooperly and try again. hope this can help you a bit..

ok. i changed the plugs and it started after about 20 pulls. now it fires right up after every pull. thanks again for your help.<br /><br />the old plugs werent gapped correctly, the gap was too small. also, i noticed that there is a little saltwater getting into the rear under the cowling. i trimmed the motor up to avoid this.
