Question for those in the know here about battery ratings for a new motor. Manual calls for starting battery with a 245-430 cca and an rc of 53 minutes.
I want to use a much bigger deep cycle battery already in the boat, a size 29, with approx cca of 750 and rc of 170. My concern is not with starting as the motor also has rope start, but is with a discharged battery from a hard day fishing potentially causing excessive draw load from the alternator trying to recharge it while motoring to next spot. Is there a concern here blowing the alternator or am i overthinking it? Dealer didnt know.
Please advise and thanks in advance!

look up how many amps your motors charging system will put out,
it will not put out any more than that, and I would not think a small motor would put out very much, but I do not know how much.
make sure you use a charger to get the battery back up to full charge before heading back out again if you are using so much power while fishing
