yamaha f225 fuel in oil

man called me to see if i would look at his 225, says it was overhauled by dealer because it had water in it, he said the boat had only 115 hr on it and boat doesnt stay in water. i think his gas cap o ring had gone bad and water was getting in tank. now that it been rebuilt his oil buzzer goes off at ilde, took it back and changed the oil sensor same thing, the next time after 3 more times to dealer and other parts changes, they told him there was gas in the oil and when they finely put a manual gague on it the oil pressure was 80lbs. at 3000 rpm but at idle it was less than 5 lbs. there in lies the buzzer going off at idle. the dealer is now dancing around as always. so what im asking has anyone seen this problem, i have not. thank for any help. and when i find out what happened i will post what i find.

Making oil is a common complaint with four stroke engine owners. Making oil (oil level rises on the dip stick) is due to fuel getting into the oil which iin most cases is caused by 1) engine running too cool, or 2) engine is being lugged because it is has the wrong prop (too much pitch). There are other causes as well but those two happen on an otherwise perfectly performing engine. If this engine had fuel in the oil previously, that probably took out the rod and/or main bearings which affects oil pressure. Since the engine was overhauled (supposedly) I would not expect low oil pressure. However, if the engine began making oil AFTER the overhaul, then that very well can take out the rod and/or main bearings which accounts for the low oil pressure. The key to all of this is to CHECK THE DIP STICK before every trip.
