Water pump won't pee using muffs, only if submerged in water. Changed pump, same thing. I know engine can be flushed with hose but reluctant to run engine with muffs. Don't want to burn up new water pump. Any suggestions?

Yammi's are finicky that way.

A good friend has twin 150's on his boat. One motor will pee on a hose, the other will not.

If your worried about it flush in a trash barrel or something similar

Not uncommon at all. If you want it to pee on flush muffs then also connect the garden hose flush fitting at the same time. Use a tap that has high pressure water. Largest diameter hose you can find with the shortest possible length.

Thanks for the input guys. Do not want to burn up a new impeller. Anyone know if running with muffs (good water pressure but no pee) will harm impeller?

You thank us for the inputs but also apparently ignore them.

Why should we respond to your latest question? You might simply ignore that also.

just think a little,
if you are furnishing water to the impeller it should be well lubricated. running one dry can cause it to overheat and melt

boscoe99 Sorry, you misinterpret my question. I meant to ask if the no pee on muffs meant water was not reaching the impeller. I do appreciate the input and will try the two hose suggestion. Thanks!!

Thanks Admiral, Was concerned about burning up an impeller (much less an engine) when muffs are connected but no pee. Will try the two hose suggestion from boscoe99.
Thank You!
