Yamaha F150 overhauls?

Are there any known good shops rebuilding Yamaha F150 power heads? Had a rental take a hit from behind hard enough to lockup a cam and strip the belt. One or two outings after changing the belt, the pulley on the other cam broke creating a kickback hard enough to remove the flywheel nut and take out a cam seal. I now consider everything about this power head suspect and needing a complete tear down. Yamaha certified block and head assemblies were priced to me at roughly $12,000. We replaced the entire motor with a new one for a little over $14K but would like to explore a more economical way of making the old one a reliable spare.

Personally, would be looking for a short block. Roughly half the quoted price

thanks guys, I will look into these.

I don’t think a short block is enough. The kickback was hard enough to remove the flywheel nut and ruin the seal on the cam that did not break the pulley. I haven’t looked but I half expect valve/piston contact and bent push rods in the top end with cam and/or bearing damage. In the lower end I think possibilities include crank bearing and con-rod damage. No way to know unless it gets disassembled.
