I have a 2005 f150txr (4-stroke) and wondering if a 2008 model lower unit would be compatible...full lower unit, just need to bolt it on. I see some part numbers are different in the schematics, but not sure if I am looking at the right stuff. Seems that after 2006 they are all the same and I have an 05. want to buy a used on on craigs list, but having trouble finding compatibility through google searches...any input at all would help...Thanks!

Re: yamaha f150 lower units compatible?

As long as it has a 25 inch shaft length, any F150 gear case will work on your motor.

If you look at the basic part number it is the same. 63P-45300-XX-XX.

The only differences is in the dash number which just denote production changes.

If you tried to get the original part number gear case for your motor (-11-8D) you could not get it. It is no longer available. It has been replaced by a 63P-45300-13-8D

thankyou...this is what I needed!

it if is the wrong shaft length, can I use the shaft/parts from mine and put in it...pretty sure mine just has stripped gears, but wanted a quicker fix than having it rebuilt.....
