I have a 2003 Yamaha TXRB when I turn the key to run the alarm sounds. It ran fine last fall. It I try to start it, it will turn over but not start. (I believe the alarm prevents it from starting at that point.) The kill switch is fine (I even tried to by-pass it and it still sounds so I do no believe that is the issue.) Battery is good, gas is good, oil level is good. Any help would be very much appreciated, the service centers here are basically closed.

Double check that battery is good theory. It won’t fire if the ecu sees less than 5 or so volts when cranking is taking lots away from it.

What does the alarm mean? My Suzuki manual lists out what all of the specific alarm sounds mean (low oil, battery, etc...). Does you manual say anything about this specific alarm? Battery is a good thought.

The alarm means there is a problem. There is normally only one alarm sound. A steady buzzer or horn.

In an F115B model the horn will usually sound due to low oil pressure or over temperature.

If the kill circuit is closed then when the motor is cranked the alarm will sound. The motor of course will not start.

I don’t know if this will help or not, but try wiggling the main engine wiring harness where it enters the engine. My F115 did the same thing. Two boat shops couldn’t find the problem. I discovered the problem by accident when I leaned on the wiring harness while my friend turned the key. Metal fatigue from 18 years of tilting the motor on and off the trailer had broken two conductors inside the harness. The motor would crank but there was no spark. The insulation on the outside and on the individual wires looked perfect. I spliced the broken wires and the problem was solved. I bought a new harness to be safe.
