yamaha counter rotating props ????

does anyone have any experience or info about 1992 yamaha with counter rotating 200 hp motors how well did they work why they no longer make them with this configuration ? prone to problems ? thanks

Tarponfever, I have a friend that has a Yamaha 150 V-max with TRP's. I think the only problem he was having was the lower unit seal (behind the props) kept going out. The dealership could never figure out why. He finally replaced the lower unit and now runs a single prop. Oh, his outboard is a 1997 and he just had a rebuild done. I have the 1998 Yamaha V-Max (single prop) and the only problem I've had to date was a clogged carb. Sorry, I don't have more information, but maybe this will help.

Oops! I just re-read your post. We're talking about two different things. Sorry, now I feel a little foolish. I thought you were talking about the twin rotating props. Oh, well.
