Can anyone point me in the direction of instructions for manually starting a 90 hp yamaha engine.

Any ASAP information would be appreciated very much. My brother is currently stalled somewhere out on the bay, so I'm hoping to be able to mobile him some instructions.

Thanks

Dylan

Re: Yamaha 90hp pull start

hello
hahaah this sounds cool :)
not knowing what year, always post a year. if the motor has a choke then close the choke. make sure the shift is in nuetral. advance the warm up lever, make sure the ign swithc is ON. and pull like mad. if the motor has Prime start then on the middle carb will be a small red plastic flag. move the flag to manual, pump up the primer bulb, place shift to nuetral, place throttle to idle, place key switch to ON. make sure stop lanyard is in place. and Pull like mad.
Good luck and post back :)

Re: Yamaha 90hp pull start

Thanks, that worked A OK.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the information to them until after they had:

(a) Rowed the many kilometres to shore with those itty-bitty collapsable oars.

(b) Pulled it with a tow rope for 1.5 kms through thigh deep mud

(c) Had to get a tow from some passing boats in the river.

All in all an eventful fishing ship you could say ;-) But they'll be prepared next time I hope.
