Yamaha 90hp pinches speedo tube

I recently purchased a boat that has a 90hp Yamaha 2 stroke on it. I'm having a problem with the speedo pickup tube that runs down into the lower end. When the motor is trimmed all the way in, it pinches the tube and the speedo doesn't work. I'm not terribly concerned about it not working when trimmed in since I don't run like that except getting out of the hole, but I don't want to end up having to replace the tube all the time, which I think is going to happen.

Any ideas?

Re: Yamaha 90hp pinches speedo tube

I'm not sure where I could route it though, but that was my first thought. It's pinching it between the mount / clamp whatever you call it where the engine is bolted to the transom and the lower unit when trimmed all the way in. The tube comes straight down from under the cowling and into the lower unit. Is there any sort of adjustment to the trim stop?
