My "new" '98 model 90hp yamaha is really weird to me. I have researched it and found that my compression of just 120psi on all cylinders is good and normal. I have also read about this "enrichment solenoid". This thing takes no little special tricks or knowledge to start. Pretty much any idiot could crank it up. I hate this confounded motor. Now my dad can borrow this thing and I won't have the fun of telling him how to crank it over the phone when he borrows it and making him feel like a moron, since he's retired and out fishing while I'm at work.
Is there any way to screw up this motor so that it's not so darned easy to start?:D
BTW, it's also very smooth on idle, acclerates smoothly, and has good power. Are there any other annoying characteristics with this motor, like not requiring a lot of repairs, etc.???? I'm unaccustomed to going fishing with no worries and it's very stressful to me........
Thanks,
JBJ
