My Yamaha 9.9 kicker is getting to the point where the throttle doesn't want to stay where you put it. I've tightened the screw in the end of the hanld, but it still won't stay and it's getting rough to turn. The seloc manual that I paid $40 for doesn't seem to have anything about how to get that handle apart and how to fix that problem. can anyone here point me towards the info I need?

Thanks

Re: Yamaha 9.9 throttle control problems

most likly the bushings are worn, most selocs dont say much about the tiller/throttle. but its not hard to dissasemble just time consuming.
look at the yamaha parts web site and you can get a breakdown of how its but together.

Hmmm.. if you are referring ot the yamaha parts link on the right side of this page, that also didn't have any references to the tiller handle...

google yamaha parts.
it will bring up a link to the Yamaha official website and look for parts and accessories.
follow the instructions and US motors are listed.
