Yamaha 9.9, 4 stroke prop problem ??

Does anyone know if the standard Yami 4 stroke prop hubs are designed to slip if they strike something underwater like a mercruiser prop.<br />At full power my motor is sometimes either slipping at the prop hub or I have some lower unit gear problem.

hello<br /> yes that prop does have a pressed in rubber hub. it may be slipping. its easy to have tested.are you sure the engine height is correct? any other obstuctions that would cause cavitation or ventilation? any way good luck and keep posting
