Yamaha 85 tach quit?

I have a 1995 Yamaha 2 stroke with a Yamaha multi function tach that i installed 3 years ago. It has worked perfectly for 355 hrs. Today i wanted to get the hrs off it and when I turned the key on it wouldn't come on. I didn't remember turning the batt power off so I hit the tilt switch and the power was on. I started it just to make sure it would run.

Is there a fuse somewhere on the engine I could check? It's plugged into the standard harness from my Yamaha 703 side mount. Where should I start? I wonder if my tach could have taken a dive?

There should be an in-line fuse or fuse-box somewhere near the tach or behind the control panel. My tach cut off like that and it was just a bit of corrosion on the ends of the in-line fuse.
Start the motor and jiggle the wiring with your hand while watching for movement in your tach to see if you can locate the bad connection, but of course it could be a dead tach, but I doubt it. good Luck!
