Yamaha 703 controls caught fire !!!

Less than one year repower with f70 and new 703 controls wiring melted ?? Marine shop installed and did not protect 3 wires from a sharp aluminum edge What is the blue with white stripe wire ?

Blue wire is for the up trim circuit. Conveys power to the trim relay.
