yamaha 6hp no water from tell tale

new motor to me. started it up and ran for 10 secs and i dont see and water from a small pipe and the bottom which i believe is the tell tale discharge, motor is only 5 years old, and worked recently.<br /><br />1. does it pee water immediately after start up or does it have a themostat somewhere<br /><br />2 i can feel air with hand being discharged from pee hole but do water ?<br /><br />any help please, thanks

I had a 6 yamaha some years back... twin cylinder..<br /> Here in the south, got to watch for critters that build mud nest... more than once I had to stick a small object in tell tale hole to dislodge the now dried mud nest... that 6 yamaha was best outboard i ever owned.. many hundreds of miles on inter coastal waterways in LA, TX and FL..
