Yamaha 60FEO what year?

Hope somebody can help me.<br />I have an Yamaha 60 HP outboard motor, the serial number plate says:<br />60 FEO<br />6H2 L 406530<br />Can anyone tell the year? And is it a Yamaha C60 or P60 or E60 or F60 or something else?<br />I am about to buy a new propeller and manuals for the outboard so I could use the information.<br /><br />Stig

Hello Hooty<br /><br />Thanks for the quick reply.<br />When I look for manuals in Yamaha Motors USA web site they dont have any manuals for 60 HP outboards until 1991 and its a P60TLHP.<br />I dont have an owners manual and I would like to buy one but I want to be sure that I buy the right one. I live in the most northern civilian city in the world. It take a long time for anything to get here (mail and anything else) so I want to be right the first time.<br /><br />Stig

Stig-from what I make of the foreign site...it's a 1983 model.. electric start...oil injected...as for a manual-a Clymer or Seloc shop manual in that model year range should suffice...as for the prop-Michigan Wheel(www.miwheel.com)has some for 60's that fit 1976 thru 1991

The only thing you need to know is that the propeller shaft is a K-shaft. The same propeller shaft is on the 60,70,80,90,V4 engines.<br />I think your original propeller is an 17" pitch.

Problem solved.<br /><br />From the www.marinshopen.se site I can see that its a 1989 60F (Im glad that I can read swedish, my native language is danish and swedish is not far off from danish. (Or is it the other way round?? ;-) to the swedes)<br /><br />The _60FE_O tells me (from site):<br /><br />_ (No letter) Twostroke<br />60 Guess what that means<br />F 1989<br />E Electric start<br />_ (No letter) No power trim<br />O Autolube<br /><br />The 6H2 tell its from 1983 or after and a model 60F. In this case 1989.<br /><br />Thanks Hooty for the link.<br /><br />Ya-man, your right the propeller is a 17 pitch, after I posted I double checked my propeller and found the dia. X pitch. Glad it worked for you. I really like the factory manuals best but if it's unavailable, I'd get the Clymer. Just my preference.<br /><br />c/6<br /><br />Hooty
