yamaha 500 and 650 are they the same block

I was offered a free yamaha 500 engine for my waverunner III it had a 650 thatis bad. the 500 is rebuilt. will it mount up and are the internal parts the same?

from what I can tell they are completely different blocks, they don't even remotely resemble each other, I doubt they are interchangeable, but I have never tried.the 500 is probably too slow.

They are totally different. The rebuild 500 block is worth something to someone. Sell it and buy the one you need.
