I have just had this motor rebuilt about 2 months ago. was wondering if anyon could help me with age of thi motor and what rpm should it run it is turning 1600 now but I was told 2000 was what it should. it ia 50 elh 6hs-l-381661<br /> thanks alot wvmountainman

I had a 1984 Yamaha 40hp and that turned 5500-6000rpm at WOT. If your only turning 2000rpm than your tach is wrong, or its not running on all cylinders.

That's a 1987. 5000-5500 max operating range.
