Yamaha 50 hs. slow speed, high rpms.

Initial taking off from no-wake zone, motor gets to a certain speed but doesn't go faster, yet the rpms go way up. Sort of like attempting to drive a car fast in 1st gear .<br />Any ideas on the problem? Is there something in the prop area that needs rebuilding? Uaz1@aol.com

Hi Joe<br />Yes, it is the prop hub. Your prop is slipping on the rubber hub, causing the reving and no go. Have a prop shop install a new hub and you should be good to go.
