Yamaha 4HP- need year and other info

My late husband left a Yamaha 4HP 2 cycle outboard motor. I know nothing about it and must sell it soon. The tag reads 4SH on the top line, and 6EO S 090074 on the 2nd line. I need to know the year model, orig cost, value today (it was in excellent shape last fall). Just guess at today's value- I need something to go on. Someone told me it was 15" shaft. Looks like a 1987. Book value (what the bank would loan on it) is only going to be about $100-$150 according to NADA. But if it's in decent shape you could get up to $500 cash for it.<br /><br />Yamaha doesn't make the 4 hp in a 2-stroke anymore, only a 4-stroke. To give you an idea, a new 4-stroke 4 hp will run between $1000-$1200. I would guess this was a $700-$800 motor new.<br /><br />Good luck.
