YAMAHA 3.0L Electronic Ignition

I just took out a 2.5L Mercruiser w/o a electronic ignition and replaced it with a Yamaha 3.0L with an electronic ingition.....engine cranks but there is no fire on the distributor......there is a small plug mounted on the master plug.....i traced those wires back and they tie into the ingition system....so i guess my question is what plugs into it to make the igniton system work

Check the purple wire on the coil and see if you have twelve volts with the key on. Also you will need to use the shift switch for yamaha since it uses power to break the ignition for shifting, not ground.

or just grab the dist. out of the 2.5 and put it in the 3.0
