My 1990 Yamaha 25ESD has a miss from 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. It runs fine wide open and on hard accel from a stop. I have been through the carbs 2 times, thinking I may have overlooked something the first time. I have tried a new CDI module, new trigger coils. It still feels like it wants to surge at mid throttle settings. I have messed with many motors in the past, and first thought that I had a fuel problem, but it just does not seem to be the case here. I disconnected the choke linkage between the two carbs, and slowly applied choke to each carb while the problem was occurring. The only thing that happens is that the engine just starts slowing down. I also tried a new fuel line/bulb, which did nothing to help either. This is baffling. When running wide open, then throttling back to 3/4, it takes a little time before the surging?/missing? occurs.
Any one have any help for this problem?
