my 25hp yamaha has not been run in 2 months, it was llying down for a few weeks.
now it will not run properly, i can get it to start but it runs really rough and i cant increase the revs, it runs for about 30seconds then stalls, on checking the plugs after 30 seconds they are black, so i clean them up and it happens again and again and................
any ideas???

Hi BCB,
How did it run before the storage? Are the plugs oily black? I'd suspect bad gas personally but without more information, it's just wild speculation.
Backlash

Are you using the same gas that it had before the 2 month break?? if so, mr Backlash is correct .. stop that and get some new stuff...

Also, if the carb/s float chambers were left with fuel in them before the 2 months, then they may have gummy fuel residue in them that could be causing the rough running problem as well.
(although I suspect just changing the fuel will do the trick..)

rgds

Frank

You'd do well to get another tank of gas mixed at 50:1. Thats what that enging calls for. 100:1 is too lean. You'll damage your engine running it on 100:1.
