YAMAHA 225 VMAX 02 SENSOR

I purchased a 1999 Yamaha VMAX 225 and after about (5) hours of use the engine sputtered and would not get above 3,000 RPM's. Dealer said it was a bad 02 sensor that coused the plugs to foul. Consequently, after the 02 sensor and the plugs were replaced I still have this problem about every 5 hours and have to return to the dealer for repair. Any thoughts?

Hello, Tatkins.<br /><br />Is your engine HPDI, EFI or carbs?<br /><br />What oil are you using? If you use TC-W3 oil in a direct injected engine you will suffer such problems, or worse.<br /><br />Let us know. <br /><br />Moving this to Yamaha troubles.

JB, thanks for the information. <br /><br />Yes, it is EFI and I am using Yamalube.Which oil should I be using? What do you mean or worse? <br /><br />Is this typical of Yamaha troubles?
