Twin 4 stroke 225's manufactured in '03. After operating at cruise say for 15 -30 minutes or more ( experiencing no problem) , shut down engines for 5 to 30 minutes; then restart and engines will run for a few minutes at idle, or for about 20 seconds or so if operating at cruise and then engines sputter and stop, both at about the same time. If I pump the fuel bulb engines will restart, but often then stop. Pump bulbs again and they will restart and continues to run at cruise or higher rpm without missing a beat.

If I come down from cruise and leave the engines at idle or even, say, 1500 rpm they will eventually stall although not usually at the same time. Pump the fuel bulb and the engine will restart and run and might quit again in a few minutes, or not, though the other engine may quit in a few minutes. The fuel filter bowl is full of fuel after the stall. Sometime it can be difficult to get pressure in the fuel bulb. The fuel vent is clear and the anti siphon valves are operating properly. There is a seperate fuel line and anti siphon valve for each engine.

A few years ago Yamaha issued a TSB concerning vapor lock and a vapor recovery kit. Yamaha now says the kit doesn't work and no longer make it

I suppose it could be the low speed fuel pump or some other part but the fact that the engines quit simultanously after being shut down and later restarted as mentioned above, makes me believe both engines have the same parts problem. The engine problem sounds a lot like vapor lock especially since Yamaha issued a TSB in the past.

Any have this type of problem and/or sugggest a fix?
