My Yam 225 (1994) carbed w/ oil inj. is running rough from about 1200 through 1800 rpm's and then skips occasionally at higher rpm's. it has a newly rebuilt powerhead and i ran extra oil in the tank for break-in. it is now past that point and still running rough. i have check plugs, fuel lines, filters, etc. and plugs look good. not sure what the deal is - maybe some water got through but i've cleaned the carbs so i don't know. any help would be appreciated!!<br />derek

I would change the plugs after running rich oil mix for break in. It's possible they can look good and not fire well under compression.

Check electrical connections, particularly power supply to coils these little suckers are'nt very well insulated or waterproofed, and can corrode causing missfire.

Don't forget to check the sparkplug boots. They are good looking but they are a constant source of problems on the Yamahas. Replace and make sure they are screwed all the way onto the wires.
