I have a 2013 f150xa four stroke motor.cam shaft bearing went and caused a lot of damage.engine had 239 hrs on it and are warranty expired last year as kicker was bought February of 2013.im just wondering if anyone has had the same problem as Yamaha Canada said they wouldn't be able to help us in anyway..to me that's not right a person spends roughly 20k on a outboard and with such low hours you run into a issue like this.i always do my maintance to motor on time and stuff and are boating season is only 4-5 months a year as I'm up in the northwest territories Canada...any input would be appriated thanks.

It sucks to have anything happen. But if the a motor was purchased in February of 2013, then the three year warranty would have expired in February of 2016, almost a year and a half ago. I don't know of any engine maker that would provide goodwill assistance for a random failure that happens on a motor that is well past its warranty expiry date. Yamaha Canada does not appear to be out of line vis a vis any other engine maker.

The cam shaft bearings are not replaceable. Hopefully all that is needed is a replacement cylinder head. You can get them here in the states for under 2 grand. Don't know what Canadian customs would be. 2 grand or so to repair a $20 grand motor seems to be reasonable IMO.

not sure what buying a kicker has to do with this.

My 2014 F150 PU warranty ran out in about 2 years due to miles, I do not complain and do not expect Ford to cover things past the 36K miles
I take it you did not buy the extended warranty and I did not either.
It was your choice, so live with it
