Bought a sharkcat with twin 200hp salt water series 2.
The port one whenever brought up to around 3200rpm to about 3600rpm will set off the overheat alarm. hand under the tell tales has the water cool and certainly not even close to burning your skin. If you bring the motor back to idle it will settle in a couple of minutes. Now.....we replaced the entire outboard and its still doing it. Different sensors, different leg, different powerhead. The supplier replaced the powerhead with another complete powerhead, again different sensors.
Is there something in the wiring that could create the same problem in the same range over three different powerheads?
Welcome to Iboats,

Are all 3 the same exact powerhead ? If not, Ideal would be to install their own heat sensors if being different powerheads..

Happy Boating
