So today we took the 270 Coastal out and had what I think is a major engine failure on the port engine. Checked the oil and so no yesterday when I got the boat ready and every thing was fine on both engines. Today we went out ran at about 3600rpm out the Hudson channel turned south and where tooling along on almost smooth water, went about 10 or so miles and just before Anclote Key the port temp light started flashing. Shut down the port engine, pulled the cowling and it looked like someone exploded a water balloon in there. The rest of the story goes as expected, limped back to the house on 1 engine(no fun) got back on the lift and did some checking, The oil looks like a milk shake and if you use the flush port waters comes out near the base of the power head. I know I got to pull the engine but could this be one of those corrosion issues I've heard about?
