I have been watching the site for years but have not needed to post because there have been so many good answers out here. Now I am truly stumped. I have twin 225 Yamaha 4 strokes 2002. They start and idle fine, I pull out of the marina get on plane and one engine will bounce around like it is cavitating, and it will not go above 4300 rpm. If I stop lift the trim all the way up, and put the engine back down, it will work fine all day, even if I stop and turn them off. Fuel is fine all filters clear. This happens every time I go out. Any help out there to point me in the right direction would be appreciated.

Thanks

Jay

may be you have some crap floating around in the VST tank.
partialy straining the high pressure fuel system.
that wil make the engine surge.

What would Rodbolt say?
One of the things I can hear him say would be:
"Check the fuel pressure at the RPM that the problem is occurring"

From what you described, you should check your electrical connections
