YAMAHA - 2002 90hp (water pump)

First timer, I am looking for location of water pump or diagram of lower unit.<br />I've had several mechanical challenges and need to know if pump is located in lower unit. Then it appears to be (4) bolts holding the unit onto the shaft housing.<br />Will the pinion gear assembly pull apart cleanly?

With all due respect, if you don't know where the water pump is, I suggest you don't tackle any mechanical challenges yourself.<br /><br />If you still want to, you need to get a service manual for that engine. I prefer the Yamaha manual, however there are a couple of aftermarket ones that are decent.<br /><br />Yes, the water pump is in the lower unit. There should be 4 bolts holding on the lower unit AND another one to take the trim tab off AND another one under the trim tab.<br /><br />Good Luck,<br /><br />john
