Hi guys,
I just bought a Yamaha 2.5 outboard engine from another country and I need to transport to my country. I want to transport it by bus with some travel agency that does good transports also.
The guy I bought it from advised me not to do it because if I don't transport it in a certain position the oil will get into the carburater and destroy the engine.
I read the manual and found no such warning. I only found that I should take care to fully empty the engine of water, so water does not get into the cilinder...nothing about oil.
The engine has gas and oil in it at the moment.
How should I proceed with the transport? Is there any danger of liquids spilling out of the engine if everything is closed as it should be? More important, is there a posibility to destroy the engine as the guy said by mixing something in it?
If I cannot transport it with the liquids inside, how can I get them out before transport without visiting a yamaha service?
Thank you.
