boat has been out of the water for about a year (fathers ) boat anyway started up fine ran down the river great when i slow to come to an idle engine stall out as if it were starving for fuel so i checked the bulb it was de-flated so i check fuel line ect. from the tank back to the engine anti siphon valve not present as far as i can see changed the primer bulb and fuel water seperater took it out to re-test this time ran longer a higher rpms but still would bogg out when coming to cruising speed or approx 6knts fuel bulb not de-flating (good sign). next time out (test) carry a remote tank with fresh gas clean filters and re-test runs no different may have idled a little smoother, "fresh gas I guess" any way now I'm torn between rebuilding carbs or should I proceed to the fuel pumps , but here is my question does the yamaha have a high and low pump for each range ideling and full throttle or could I have another problem1 1999 175 with 300hrs on it maybe

Re: Yamaha 1999 175

hello
do them all
all 3 carbs and both fuel pumps. fuel pumps dont last forever and can melt pistons and crankshafts when they fail. do as you wish but that motor is close to 10k to replace or 200 to repair now.
good luck and keep posting
PS service baby service. if your not spending 500 a year on it your not doing it. when was the last cooling system tune up as well
pay me now or pay me later but always remember the price of carb kits, waterpumps and such is the same regardless of any piston purchase:) :)
