Hi,
I try to start my jetski yesterday, but the battery was dead. Being new to jetskis, I took the seat off and started looking for a battery so I can recharge it, but where is it??? and how do I get to it? Does anyone know where I can find a PDF file manual so I can familiarize myself with the mechanics? Thanks for any help!

When you remove the seat, you will see a storage bin in the rear. Take this out and you should see the battery straight down on the starboard side.
If you don't see the battery, could it be that it is missing, stolen, taken, borrowed?
If missing, look for a black rectangular tray about 1" deep where the battery sat and you should see two large power cables with ring terminals on the end.

It is best to remove the battery for charging. Be sure to charge in a well ventelated area.

I found a shop manual cd rom on ebay for my 99 yamaha that has complete diagrams and step by step maintenance and repair instructions. It has come in very handy. You should be able to find one for your ski.

be sure the battery is full unless it's a sealed type,, and clean all the cable ends especially the one at the engine block on the ground cable.

If you do not know where the battery is I take it you didnt charge the battery and store it out of the jet ski for the winter? That is done to keep them from going dead during storage.

If you just bought the ski, since you say you ar new to jet skis, find out when was the last time it was turned on. Look and see if it the fuel was also tuned off and the ski was on to burn the fuel left in the carbs. If this was not done and it has not been turned on in a while, you will most likely have to rebuild your carbs.
