I recently had my 2000 150 OX66 rebuild due to a spun rod bearing. I requested the motor be built out to a 200. The motor has been broken in for 12 hours now. I've been runnning the motor now to see what kind of new performance it has. I'm getting the same performance as before the rebuild. The motor turns 5600 rpm's and tops out at 45mph. With 50 more horse power should the engine be able to turn more rpm's or get increased speed? I don't believe the horsepower upgrade was performed. Can anyone tell me what is involved in upgrading a 150 to a 200. I'm tempted to take the boat to a local dealer and have the heads pulled to see if they are a 200 size piston. Can the ecm module be reflashed as in a vehicle with a programmer or does the ecm have to e replaced? Any comments on this would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Yamaha 150 OX66 Rebuild

that makes no sense.
best I recall the block and ECM are different between the 200 and the 150 ox66.
you can alays sit down with both parts lists and look for what is different between the two and look at your reciept and see what you got billed for.
both have the same bore and stroke.
