I have twin 1996 150 Saltwater Series Yamahas. One is great. The other overheats after running 3000rpm for three minutes. Will not overheat idling. Model S150LTXRU. Already replaced or swapped with the good motor: water pump impeller ( twice ), t-stats and press. relief valve ( new ), Thermo switches and temp sensor, computer. Cleaned out carbs. Runs nice but still overheats. Strong water stream from indicator. Both thermo switches indicate high temp, and both heads are hot to touch.

Any ideas before I get into the powerhead? The t-stats and covers seemed clean, but I think I've got to get inside.

Can I get the heads off with the powerhead still attached? Can I just pull the covers and clean from there? Any good tips for getting any crud out?

Thanks for your time.
