Yamaha 130 overheat alarm when on muff flusher

I have a 2001, 130HP BETO Yamaha with 48hrs use. After using all day on the harbour with no problem, I put the flush muffs on to flush out. After about 10 mins, the overheat alarm sounded. The tell-tale had running water OK. The alarm has never sounded before. Any ideas as to why the overheat alarm would have gone off?

You could be sucking some air into the cooling system. You should test with the water intakes completly submerged.
