Yamaha 130 hp 1990 Trim/Tilt indication failed

My 1990 130 hp Yamaha trim/tilt indication has failed. The motor tilts and trims correctly but the digital guage indication stays at the lowest setting. I imagine there is some type of a potentiomiter(sp) that sends a resistance reading to the gauge. Where is it exactly? What ohm range? Replace or clean? Tips? Thanks in advance. SJ.

Hello<br /> yes a sender is like a poteniometer. it is a plastic lever on the port motor bracket just inside it and above the trim motor. spay it with fluid film or pb blaster and let it soak. then try to gently rock it while keeping it soaked.<br />Good luck and keep us posted
