Yamaha 130 hard to start

Early mornings on the Texas coast my (1999 I think) Yamaha 130 will not start.
It has been to three different dealers and mechanics for tune-ups, line & filter changes, new battery and wiring, trouble shooting, etc. and still has the same problem and they are all stumped.
After hours of cranking (intermittently) and waiting and charging and cranking and waiting, it will finally start. Once it fires and starts it runs fine all day and starts first tick. It just will not start the next morning until hours of cranking and waiting and etc....

Any ideas?

had that problem on an engine once...turned out to be the rubber gaskets between the air silencer and carbs were deformed to the point that they would not allow the choke plates to close all they way could crank and crank and crank.......just wouldn't start. Has the silencer been off and did this problem start after that?

Thanks for the feedback. Here's the normal starting procedure.

Pump Bulb tight
Pull manual choke lever on motor, Depress Key Choke, Crank five seconds, no fire. (It cranks just fine, but no fire)
Repeat, no fire.
Repeat, no fire.
Repeat, no fire.
Repeat, no fire.
Repeat, no fire.
Charge battery (not really discharged, but why not), wait an hour (more or less), repeat, same results, no fire.
Charge battery, wait an hour, repeat, same results, no fire.
After 3 or so hours, we walk out to the dock again, same procedure, and it fires right off and then starts on first crank for the rest of the day.

have you ever tried advancing the warm up lever so the engine starts at 1500 to 2000 RPM like the owners manual states under starting procedure?
trust me that motor cold does not like to start at a dead idle.
try lifting the warm up, if that doesnt work the airbox may have to come off to inspect the gaskets and choke plates.

Might be a typo but, either use the manual choke or the electric choke but there is no need to use both.
Pump the bulb
Advance the warm up lever
Hit the choke and crank.

Thanks all. Yes we've tried advancing the lever, sorry I forgot about that.

I think my next step is the airbox will come off to inspect the gaskets and choke plates.

I'll post the results.

close the chokes, take a picture of the plates closed and post it.
there is a method to my madness.

I have a 2002 115hp and had the same problem. If you choke by pushing the key in, check to see if your solenoid that actuates the choke is adjusted properly. Take the cover off of your engine. The solenoid is located, as you look a the front of your engine, on the front left of your engined above the carburator. It is attached with 2 bolts. Loosen those bolts and slide the solenoid up (it is adjustable). then tighten. this will tighten the choke linkage. if the choke does not close all the way, it will have a hard time starting when cold. this takes 5 minutes. It fixed my starting problems. Please try this before anything else. It works!
