I just bought a new yamaha 115 4 stroke long shaft and having problems going over 30mph. I have a double eagle boat 18 feet long. I have went through 3 prop sizes 17/19/23 pitch. the first 2 props get max 6000 rpm the 3rd 5300rpm. When I put more weight at the back of the boat the prop seems to grab better and I get more speed. Also anything over 5000rmp causes the motor to almost cavitate and lose speed. Is my leg low enough?
