Yamaha 115 tilt

Water rats chewed my motor and trim cables. How can manually tilt the engine up for towing? I turned the tilt screw on left of engine and nothing happened.

You need to post the FULL model number of your motor, then people can determine exactly which 115 you have and how to answer your question. They aren't all the same ya know, Yamaha actually changes things from one year to another.

I apologize for not posting the motor information, the motor is
2006 F115TL . I turned the screw near the bracket with the tilt picture on it 2-3 turns. But it stopped turning and nothing happened. Any help you can provide is appreciated.

that screw should have been on the lower port bracket.
2-3 turns is all you need. many more and the release valve backs into the retainer and can destroy the valve and the trim unit.
from there it aint easy to lift but it can be done, usually takes two folks grabbing the lower, DO NOT attempt it by pulling on the engine hood.
WILL break the hood.
