Was out fising last weekend and was going to take off to another spot, motor started fine but once I tried to get on plane the motor started missing and would die if I kept the throttle down. Once I pulled it up it would run fine. I pulled the spark plugs out and they were fouled. I carry extra and put them in but they too went bad soon. Is it my injectors that need cleaning?

I've had a similar problem.

Sounds like the carburetors jets are clogged. You can pickup some cleaning the remove the varnish from winter storage.

Bottom line is start the motor and let it get up to temp about every two weeks.

Re: Yamaha 115 Motor Problem

I thought only Force motors had problems?

(sorry, I did all I could to resist, but I just couldn't...)

Seriously, it sounds like a fuel starvation problem. The next time this happens, try squeezing the primer bulb, and see if that remedies it. If so, you may have one of many fuel related issues. If you do a search on "Primer bulb", you will see a bunch of likely responses.

Good luck

-Nick
