Does the over board water tell-tale show a good stream.

The usual blockage point is in the outer exhaust cover right before it's clamped to the rubber exhaust hose (clogged internally). Yamaha 63M-41123-00-94

Sand gets trapped inside where the inner and outer connect. I have pulled them apart and re-used the gaskets with a little sealant.

Did you punch in the # and find it on a schematics.

The sand accumulates where the two come together in the end where it attaches to the rubber exhaust hose.

When you take it apart they're often full of sand.

Do you beach the ski on sand?

Its been awhile since I've had one of those apart. You may have to take another layer apart, but it's easy as you've noticed.

The gaskets are metal and usually come apart nicely.

You can try them dry. You can spray them with black paint. You can spray them copper spray a gasket, or you can use a thin amount of any "form a gasket". High temp is not necessary.

FYI it took about 5 minutes and I had it apart. You were right there was a cup of sand on the port where the water is "supposed to come out " in to the tube to keep it cool. It was a breeze. Thanks again. I ask the marine shop guy when I ordered a new hose if I should take it apart he said no you dont have to. All you need to do is back flush it. I did that and flushed it and did it again I thought that was good. You cant backflush where the sand was only forward flush it and water cant go thru there it was clogged. I would have bought another hose if I had listened to him. Thanks again and have a great day...

Wow, you flew! Glad it's working out.

When you can take it for a spin on the water, double-check your $150 hose isn't getting hot.

I'm sure you're all set.
