Yamaha 100 smoking

I have a yamaha 100hp four stroke. It has been doing fine since day one until today, when I started it, it blew a big puff of smoke out, and smoked alot for about 15 seconds, this has never happened before. After that ran fine. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Blue smoke, white smoke, or black smoke? Blue=oil, white=water, black=carbon.<br />Oil = valve stem seal leak or ring leak, water=head gasket or exhaust cover gasket or some other coolant channel leak, carbon may just be from extended low speed operation or a rich mixture. If it doesn't happen again its probably just a bad planetary alignment.
