Yamah 40 HEO ID

Greetings. I recently purchased a 1985 Fisher aluminum bass boat. It has a Yamaha 40 HP motor and is said to be a 1988 model. I have been unable to locate a Model number on the motor. The only visible tag reads 40 HEO and the serial number 6H4L 400942 stamped in tag.

Can anyone tell me where the model number should be located on the motor with the information provided here?

Yamaha advises 40HEO IS the Model number - 1984 version. This number is not listed in domestic #'s. Could have possibly entered country through Canada, Mexico, other non US. Database serial numbers skip from 400932 - 401000. Advised to use 40ELN as equivalent. E=Electric start. L= 20" Drive Shaft. N = 84 model. Specs: 698cc. 42.6 CID.
